Paris in photos – Rue View 75002

Another day, another arrondissement, in which so much can change from one street to the next.

Home to the fabric merchants and textile companies in the Sentier, and where between Rue Réaumur and Rue Etienne Marcel  the sun turns the setts golden, welcome to the second arrondissement, Paris 75002.

Lofty windows on the Rue d’Uzès are a contrast to the ungentrified streets near Bonne Nouvelle. Galleries that are beautiful in grandeur, and passages that charm with their untouched decay, are hidden away from the normal tourist routes in a part of the city that is too often overlooked.

Roy, it’s my pleasure. I can’t get enough of Paris and walking non-stop is the best way to discover every hidden corner. :)

My old ‘hood where I lived for nearly 6 years! I have a bit of a crush on Montorgueil too – and stay there each summer when I come to spend a month there. Thanks for a little piece of my old “home” on this grey, cold, Toronto evening.

Mardi, it’s a great area. I like it around Montorgeuil and I love the 2nd between the Bourse and around Place des Victoires. So much beautiful history.

Beautiful photos of this fabulous area. I loved our stay here and being so close to Rue Montorgueil made it perfect. Thank you for the mention!

loooove this post! and those stacks of books are just magic – how anyone grab anything out from bottom of the pile, it’s a mystery to me ;)

Lil, I have no idea how anything comes out of the bottom of that pile. The entire shop was packed with treasures, just impossible to get to them! :)
